Health Science

hsphoto2We prepare students for careers in a variety of disciplines with the application of science to health in either clinical or health promotion settings involving humans. We concentrate on the theoretical and practical constructs for maintaining and/or improving health conditions in all populations. Depending upon the chosen track of study, you will be prepared to successfully matriculate into careers in health education, health maintenance organizations, health agencies, health departments, secondary schools or graduate programs in physical therapy, occupational therapy, athletic training, exercise science, or dietetics and nutrition.

Mission of the Health Science Major

Empower communities to maintain and improve optimal health and advocate for social change in the general well-being of diverse populations.

The Health Science Program is easily the best program on campus, that is why many student are health Science Majors.  The advisors and professors are always there with a helping hand in any situation. The classes are challenging but fun. I have learned so much and gained so much interest throughout this program. It has easily bettered me as a student and a soon to be professional. I would not be where I am today without the classes and staff in the Health Science Program.

President Dunsworth named to APCU board

University of the Ozarks President Richard Dunsworth, J.D., has been elected to the board of directors for the Association of Presbyterian Colleges and Universities (APCU).

University awards 87 degrees to Class of 2017

University of the Ozarks awarded 87 bachelor’s degrees to graduating seniors during its 183rd Commencement ceremony, held May 13, on the campus mall.

Rotaract mission trip embodies University values

One of the core values of University of the Ozarks is “the service of all of creation,” and that driving principle was on full display during a recent mission trip to El Salvador by the student organization Rotaract.
